Meaty Pasta Sauce
Set your slow cooker in the morning, and by dinner you have a wonderful pasta sauce just waiting for you. A great freeze-and-store! You will get enough out of this batch to make and freeze two prepared lasagnas plus 3 containers of sauce for spaghetti.
Ingredients
- Italian sausage - x 5, removed meat from the sheathes
- large onion - diced
- garlic - 8 cloves, smashed and coarsely chopped
- fire roasted diced tomatoes - 2 x 14oz (medium) cans
- diced tomatoes - 2 x 14oz (medium cans)
- roasted garlic pasta sauce - 1 x 28oz can
- tomato paste - 2 x 6oz (small) cans
- Italian blend spices - 1 tbs
- Dried basil - 1 tbs
- Sea salt - 1 tsp (plus more to taste if required)
- course black pepper - 1/2 tsp
- tabasco sauce - 1 tbs
Instructions
- In a frying pan, cook sausage meat, onions and garlic until meat is no longer pink; be sure to break apart the meat well
- Add meat and remainder of ingredients to slow cooker
- Cook on low approx 6 hour.
