Hamburger Sandwich
My take on a childhood favourite – Loose-meat Sandwich… This one happened after a long day. And then, the age-old questions… “What’s for Dinner?”. So, what’s made in 20 minutes or less with thawed ground beef? Here you go…
Ingredients
- Meat Filling
- extra lean ground beef - 1 lb
- onion - 1/4 cp diced
- red wine - 1/4 cp
- yellow mustard - 1 tbs
- garlic - 2 cloves smashed and coarsely chopped
- low milk fat cheddar cheese - 1/2 cp
- sea salt & cracked black pepper
- olive or avocado oil - for the pan
- Sandwich extras
- mustard
- katchup
- spinach
- rye bread/bun
Instructions
- Place a small amount of oil in the bottom of your pan and begin to heat. Add onion and garlic and saute until the onion is slightly translucent.
- Add meat and cook until no longer pink; drain off any excess fat
- Add wine and mustard, mix into the meat and simmer until all of the wine has evaporated
- Add cheese and stir together until completely melted
- Serve on rye bread with all of your favourite garnishes
